ServiceDesk 4.8.195 Update 11/25/20
Windows Popup Editing Menu is Back
This is a small tweak.
It's in reaction to an objection we received to the fact we employed the mouse right-click action as means, from a CustomerName box in a Callsheet or JobRecord, to invoke connection to the new DayPlanner (see here).
It's of course true that CustomerName boxes often contain a DispatchID or P.O. Number. It's also true that folks often want to copy such numbers into the Windows clipboard, so they can then paste into other contexts (such as the ServiceBench website, for example, so as to open the dispatch there). And it's true that some folks prefer using the Windows popup editing menu to copy something into the Clipboard, as opposed to using Ctrl-C on their keyboard.
In fact, it is folks who have this preference that informed us they felt rather unhappy about right-click (which brings up that Windows popup editing menu) having been commandeered in the CustomerName box for another purpose.
Our simple tweak is as follows.
Now, when you right-click in such a box, ServiceDesk will look to see if such text as you've selected is configured as a DispatchID or P.O. Number. If yes, it will refrain from the new link-to-DayPlanner action, thereby allowing the Windows popup editing menu to appear, per normal.
