New Eliminate the Need for Excel to Export Reports
As part of the continued improvements to prepare for SD-Online, this release enables ServiceDesk to allow any report to be exported without needing to have Excel installed or licensed.
Many of ServiceDesk’s reports give the user the option to select their output format as either .csv (comma separated value), .txt, or Microsoft’s .xls format. However, three specific reports in ServiceDesk: the Tax Liability Report, the Time Allocations Report, and the Dispatches Performance Report, all utilize a template that required a licensed version of Excel to properly display and save for users.
This update replaces the .xls option with the more modern Excel .xlsx format which can be used with LibreOffice or imported into Google sheets. This change ensures that all users can access and save reports regardless of their spreadsheet software, making reporting more accessible and convenient.
Note: If you haven’t utilized these reports due to the Excel limitation, after updating you may find them here:
• Tax Liability Report (F11 → Sales Summary → Export Options → A Normal, Tax Rates File-based Report)
• Time Allocations Report (F11 → Performance-Techs → Time Allocations (DTR))
• Dispatches Performance Report (F11 → Performance-Techs → Result on Dispatches)
Future Schedule Viewer Update Details
We have implemented several updates to the Future Schedule Viewer, fs.rossware.com, to improve ease of use and functionality for technicians.
• The “return” button will now take the user back to the date or view where the last item was selected rather than to the top or beginning of the list.
• Executing a browser refresh will no longer reset user selected filters.
• Enabled the ability to see job count in the mobile browser.
Minor Fixes and Improvements
Other minor fixes and improvements found in this version update are:
• It was brought to our attention that the Direct Order Ship To selection menu failed to allow the user to abort the order process. This has been corrected in this update.
• Enabled smart auto life expiry processes to the BB-Sync+ to prevent expiration when the user is already on the most current licensed software version.
• With this update, the Bulk Part Import process will now correctly display $0.00 instead of an empty field when importing into a currency field.
• Fixed a label in the Margin/Markup planner that was obscuring the text.
