ServiceDesk 4.8.309 Release Announcement

ServiceDesk software, Version 4.8.309, released on May 15, 2025, includes improvements to printing via Rossware PDF-printer when ServiceDesk runs on a remote server, standardizes direct order name selection, and updates QET automations for Hisense and HomeServe. Dispatch Me (Version 2.0.28) and Service Power (Version 5.1.54) Dispatch Links are also included in this release to take advantage of the updates for Hisense and HomeServe.

Hisense and HomeServe are now selectable options in the Quick Entry Template setup. Quick Entry Templates are utilized by the dispatch link utilities to automatically insert and format dispatch information with the personalized setup you prefer.

Select the Type Designator in the lower right corner of the QET form to specify the company. With this update, these options now include Hisense and HomeServe.

Prior to integrated Microsoft PDF creation, Rossware created their own free PDF writer. This enabled users to create files within ServiceDesk that could be emailed to customers. When more users began using cloud services, it was discovered that if the PDF writer was installed on both the local computer and the remote server, conflicts could occur with the redirected printers causing a failure to print. This update removes this conflict.

To take advantage of the new Hisense type designator, your Service Power Dispatch Link utility must also be updated to the current version.

To take advantage of the new HomeServe type designator, your Dispatch Me Dispatch Link utility must also be updated to the current version.

The System Sentry will now monitor the Dispatch Me Dispatch Link utility and notify your designated contacts if the utility is not running.

Other minor fixes and improvements found in this version update are:

• The vendorslist.csv file will now match for V&V direct ordering based on the vendor abbreviation in column A or the full vendor name in column B. This structure is consistent with all other supported direct order vendors.
