Highlights:
New integration: Mailgun Email Agent
Release Details
ServiceDesk and its utilities have long allowed users to send emails to customers via their choice of direct mail agent such as Google, Microsoft, and others. However, in recent years, these providers have implemented stricter authentication requirements and limitations on third-party applications' ability to send automated emails to reduce potential abuse and malicious senders.
One ongoing challenge has been volume and rate limits—the number and speed at which emails can be sent. High-volume sending can trigger spam filters, causing accounts to be flagged or temporarily restricted by the provider.
Our integration with Mailgun addresses these concerns. Mailgun is an email service designed specifically for applications to send automated emails reliably. When you create your Mailgun account, you can select a plan based on your sending volume, ensuring your email delivery scales with your needs.
Additionally, customers have asked for insights into email engagement—how many emails are being opened and whether links are being clicked. Mailgun provides tracking and analytics tools that deliver this information through their dashboard or API.
You can find instructions on how to switch to Mailgun for ServiceDesk, SD-MobileLink, and SD-CyberLink here.
